Painting, drawing, and creating art all continue to bring great joy to my life. This is a wonderful time and place to be an artist, and I am very appreciative to be a part of it all. My goal has been, and continues to be, to challenge myself in new directions, experimentation, ideas, and presentation. This year, I have begun to focus more on still-life subject matter, black and white works, non-representational art that addresses the spiritual side of life, and to make forays into concept art and "naive/fantasy" art. Since art can be a very solitary and intense pursuit, it is immensely valuable to have the balance that participation in the workshops and exhibits provides for sharing and communication that, in turn, enables the artist to keep evolving and setting new goals. Below are four examples of my artwork. Additional work can be seen on youtube, which takes you to Karen's Art Montage1.
Metamorphosis, Acrylic on Canvas, 20" x 30", was exhibited in the 2010 "Absolutely Abstract" show.
I have participated in numerous Plastic Club shows as well as several Sketch Club and Greater Norristown Art League shows, and in other venues such as Cheltenham Art Center, Sidetracks Gallery, Philadelphia City Hall, and the Off the Wall Gallery.
